The shape of the circle is similar to that of a monstrance which is an ornate, often gilded receptacle for the Holy Eucharist, to be put on display and venerated within.\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe gleam of gold oil paint is somewhat soft, and different hues of blue and green are illuminated in soft patches of flowing rhythm. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003eThere is a push and pull in viewing this painting. Depth is created, and one is beckoned to look beyond the surface into the deep blue pools of the universe.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThese abstract, ocean-inspired paintings come from a place of wanting to be one with water.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eImmerse yourself in the peace, wonder, and serenity drawn from real-life experiences of flying forward atop waves, deep dives to rest inside of gentle giant clams, and finding safety inside of coral castles at the edge of the teeming, tropical reef.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eI created this collection to find and enter into the spirit of freedom. I experience freedom while playing in water. I let freedom wash over me, as if wiping out in a huge wave--surfboard flying, limbs flinging, lungs burning, mind finding that place of calm in which to wait out the storm. I wanted to feel suspended in the power of creativity, in a timeless tube of grace. I painted using my intuition, instead of having an image or a guide to work from.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eCreating these paintings allowed me to uncover a sense of wonder, and led me to commune with the sensuality of paint and a conversation with my paintings. Sometimes the conversation went deep, sometimes it was playful. Creating in a series allowed me to explore my subject matter in a focused way, centered around the theme of water.
